Thank you to the Hon. Lia Finocchiaro MLA , Chief Minister of the Northern Territory, and Oly Carlson MLA, Assistant Minister for Nhulunbuy Transition, for meeting with East Arnhem Regional Council 's President Lapulung Dhamarrandji, Deputy President Stephen Dhamarrandji, Councillor Marrpalawuy Marika, Councillor Lirrpiya Mununggurr and CEO Dale Keehne to discuss a range of important issues impacting East Arnhem Land.

Councillor Stephen Dhamarrandji attended the memorial service for the 84th Anniversary of the Bombing of Darwin, honouring the courage and sacrifice of those who served. We remember this significant moment in Australia's history and stand in respect with everyone impacted by the events of the Bombing of Darwin. In the best interest of the safety of our patrons, particularly our young members, we would like to remind the community that all children in the library must be supervised by an adult at all times. Children who enter the library without a supervising parent or guardian will be denied access.

East Arnhem Regional Council was honoured to attend the Remembrance Day Ceremony at Nhulunbuy Cenotaph (Arafura Park), joining the community in solemn reflection to acknowledge the service and sacrifice of Australian veterans. We recognise the significant contributions of Yolŋu people who fought and supported the defence of Australia across East Arnhem Land during World War II. Gumurr Miwatj Councillor Murphy Yunupingu laid a wreath on behalf of East Arnhem Regional Council paying tribute to all who have served. Lest we forget.
