Notice to the Nhulunbuy and wider Gove Peninsula communities.

6 December 2024

Notice to the Nhulunbuy and wider Gove Peninsula communities.

Recognising the importance of the provision of veterinary services in Nhulunbuy, a working group of key organisations including the Nhulunbuy Corporation Ltd, Developing East Arnhem Limited, East Arnhem Regional Council and the Northern Territory Government has formed to support continuity of services in the short term and to plan for sustainable local services in the longer term. KPMG has been engaged to support the assessment of different models of service.

As a first step, the working group is pleased to advise that a range of supports have been put in place to assist Katherine Vet Care Centre to commence fortnightly services in Nhulunbuy starting in January 2025. For future updates and information, keep an eye on the Katherine Vet Care Centre Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100049057793439), Instagram page (https://www.instagram.com/katherinevetcare/) or call them on (08) 89722752. Further advice about emergency and after hours arrangements will be provided soon.

Acknowledging the importance of these services to the community, the working group will continue to provide updates as the work progresses.
