2025 Local Government Elections
The 2025 Local Government Elections will take place in August, inviting voters from across the Territory to participate.
Twelve Councillors will be selected to represent the five wards across East Arnhem: Birr Rawarrang Ward (Ramingining), Gumurr Gattjirrk Ward (Milingimbi), Gumurr Marthakal Ward (Galiwin’ku), Gumurr Miwatj Ward (Gunyangara & Yirrkala) and Gumurr Miyarrka Ward (Gapuwiyak).

Voting Information
Remote voting for East Arnhem will commence on 18th August through to the 21st August. Dates, times and locations for voting in each community are outlined in the table below.
Voting is not required for Gapuwiyak (Gumurr Miyarrka), Gunyangara (Gumurr Miwatj), and Yirrkala (Gumurr Miwatj). For more information and a list of candidates visit: https://ntec.nt.gov.au/
