The East Arnhem region’s top basketballers assembled upon the EARC Galiwin’ku Recreation Hall for two days of intense competition across the 3rd and 4th of October 2024.
Five women’s teams (Galiwin’ku 1, Galiwin’ku 2, Gapuwiyak, Gove, Ramingining) and seven men’s teams contested their respective titles: (Galiwin’ku 1, Galiwin’ku 2, Gapuwiyak, Gove, Groote, Milingimbi, Ramingining).
Overall, approximately 100 players and 20 staff took part in the event that drew hundreds of spectators.

Thanks to Manuel Dhurrkay for enhancing the competition atmosphere through making game announcements and providing music. Thanks to Bush Fit Mob for their efforts in bringing a team across from Groote Eylandt and assisting with event delivery. Thanks to Matty from Bush Fit for capturing footage and photos throughout the event. Thanks to our EARC staff, for their tireless work with set up and pack down, for scoring, ensuring cleanliness of the venue and for keeping everyone hydrated. Finally, a huge thank you to our Galiwin’ku YSR Coordinator, Evellena 'Milliy’ Wanambi, and her team for their efforts in preparing the venue and for going above and beyond to ensure the success of the 2 day event.
