Scrap Metal Recovery Project

3,176.64 tonnes of scrap metal have been recycled as part of our ongoing Scrap Metal Recovery Project.

Thank you to Sell & Parker who have been engaged to deliver this project, collecting all scrap metal (including old cars and white goods) though the nine East Arnhem Communities: Angurugu, Galiwin’ku, Gapuwiyak, Gunyangara, Milingimbi, Milyakburra, Ramingining, Umbarkumba and Yirrkala. Around 1,500 vehicles have been recycled as part of this program. All scrap metal is being sent to Darwin for recycling. 

In Gapuwiyak, we have recovered the most metal out of any the communities with 837.42 tonnes sent to Darwin for recycling.
