Public Notice Milingimbi

2 April 2026

Jesse Smith Park, Milingimbi |  Construction Works  |  Lot 253

Key Points:

  • A licensed hygienist and specialist team will carry out testing at lot 253 as asbestos material has been identified.
  • Remain clear of the fenced area around the construction site as our priority is to ensure the safety of all community members.

During construction of the new public toilet block for the community, asbestos material has been identified buried deep below ground level at the site.

To ensure this material is managed and removed safely before construction recommences, a licensed hygienist and specialist team will be attending the site early next week to carry out investigative test holes.

All appropriate safety controls and risk management measures will be in place during these works. Our priority is to ensure the safety of all community members.

The outcomes of this work will guide the next steps required to safely clean up the site, allowing construction of the new public toilet block to recommence as soon as possible.

Thank you for your understanding while this important safety work is carried out.
