Protecting Dogs from Parvo Virus

23 February 2026

The East Arnhem Regional Council Vet Team has put together some important information to help keep our community dogs safe from Parvo Virus.

Parvo is a serious virus that makes puppies very sick.

Signs your dog might have Parvo include:

• Not eating

• Bloody diarrhoea

• Vomiting

• Getting weak or very skinny

• Sudden death in young dogs

How to help stop Parvo:

Keep puppies inside, away from dirt, and away from other dogs where possible.

Parvo Virus is very hard to treat.

If you’re worried about your dog or want to book in for the next vet visit, please visit our Council Office or call our Vet Team on (08) 8986 8986.

Let’s work together to keep our dogs healthy and safe.
