In November, East Arnhem Regional Council held a special Citizenship Ceremony at Galiwin'ku, welcoming a new Australian Citizen.
East Arnhem Regional Council (EARC) provides multiple services to Galiwin’ku including Accommodation, Aged Care & Disability Services, Animal Management Program, Cemetery Management, Child Care Services, Community Night Patrol, Waste & Environmental Services, Libraries, Active Communities & Youth Services, and Municipal Services.
East Arnhem Regional Council adopted the Annual & Financial Report 2024-2025 at its Special Council Meeting held on Friday, 14 November 2025. In the best interest of the safety of our patrons, particularly our young members, we would like to remind the community that all children in the library must be supervised by an adult at all times. Children who enter the library without a supervising parent or guardian will be denied access.
East Arnhem Regional Council was honoured to attend the Remembrance Day Ceremony at Nhulunbuy Cenotaph (Arafura Park), joining the community in solemn reflection to acknowledge the service and sacrifice of Australian veterans. We recognise the significant contributions of Yolŋu people who fought and supported the defence of Australia across East Arnhem Land during World War II. Gumurr Miwatj Councillor Murphy Yunupingu laid a wreath on behalf of East Arnhem Regional Council paying tribute to all who have served. Lest we forget.
